Interactive C

For this project, we will use Interactive C version 7.0.7, with a small modification to make the simulator work properly.

If you are using a desktop computer in the laboratory, everything is already set up for you.  If you are using your own laptop computer (with Microsoft Windows), you should follow the steps below.  If you are using a Macintosh or a Linux laptop, ask for help!

Step 1

Download and run the Interactive C installer.  During the installation, you can accept all the default settings.  If you want to save some disk space, you can de-select the libraries for robot controllers other than the Handyboard.

Step 2

Download and save this simulation library file - right-click on the link and select "Save Target As..." or equivalent.  Make sure that you save the file with its original name - lib_hb_sim.ic - Windows may try to save this as a text document - you need to select "All Files" as the file type before saving.  If necessary, you can rename the file after you save it.

Step 3

Use this new file to replace the file of the same name in the Interactive C installation.  If you chose the default options during the installation, this file will be in C:\Program Files\Interactive C 7.0.7\lib\handyboard.

If you have any problem with this installation, ask for help in the laboratory.
